  • Where/How can I register to swim?

    You can register online or you can call the Roswell Park Special Events Office at 716-845-8788 to register by phone.

  • What is the registration fee?

    Registration is $10 for each participant.

  • How long is the swim?

    Carly’s Crossing will feature two courses this year. There will be a half-mile and a 1-mile option for the swim.

  • Do I have to register in advance to participate in the Carly’s Crossing swim?

    Yes. There is limited space available in this unique and exclusive swim. Don’t miss your chance to participate in this special opportunity! No day-of-event registrants will be accepted.

  • The swim event is at capacity and I want to swim. What do I do?

    You may call the Roswell Park Special Events Office at 716-845-8788 and you will be added to our waiting list on a first-come, first-serve basis.

  • What is the fundraising minimum to participate in the Carly’s Crossing swim?

    All participants are required to raise $100 (not including the registration fee).

  • What do I get for achieving my fundraising goals?

    • $300-$499 – TBD
    • $500-$999 – TBD
    • $1,000+ - TBD
  • What is the fundraising deadline?

    All participants are required to raise their minimum pledges by Sunday, August 6, 2017.

  • What if I don’t raise the required minimum by the fundraising deadline?

    All participants are required to raise $100 (not including the registration fee).

  • Is there an age limit to swim Carly’s Crossing?

    Yes, participants must be 10 years old or older. We strongly encourage and prefer that you are a member of, or have an affiliation with, a swim club or swim team that can verify your physical ability to swim the open-water course.

  • How can I turn in my cash/check pledges?

    Donations can be mailed to:

    *Don’t forget to put your name (the swimmer) in the memo line of any checks and/or accompany cash donations with a note identifying the swimmer

  • Can I wear my own swim cap while swimming?

    No. A specific Carly’s Crossing swim cap will be provided to you with your heat and swimmer number on it. These caps are specifically coordinated to abide by our safety standards.

  • When does the swim start and where does it take place?

    The swim will start at 9:00am. Swimmers will enter the water from the shores of Sunset Bay Beach Club, follow a marked course, and swim back to the shores of Sunset Bay Beach Club.

  • Where/How can I buy tickets?

    You can purchase admission tickets online, or you can call the Roswell Park Special Events Office at 716-845-8788 to purchase tickets by phone.

  • What do my Beach Bash tickets include?

    Your admission tickets include: complimentary parking in one of Sunset Bay Beach Club’s parking lots, beach admission, lunch, beach games, activities and prizes* *some exclusions may apply

  • Is there a different admission price for children?

    Yes, admission tickets for children under 10 years old are only $10.

  • When does the Beach Bash start?

    The Beach Bash will begin at 10:00am…when Sunset Bay Beach Club opens!

  • What should I bring with me and what are beach rules?

    We encourage you to bring your favorite beach gear – towels, beach chairs, beach toys…and, of course, sunscreen!

    Sunset Bay Beach Club rules apply: Aluminum cans or sealed plastic bottles (24oz. or less) are allowed on the beach. Small personal coolers (24qt. or less) are allowed on the beach. Not allowed: large coolers, alcohol, glass, thermos bottles, bottles larger than 24oz., grills, pets, and fires on the beach.

  • Will there be lifeguards on duty for beach-goers?

    Yes. Sunset Bay Beach Club will have sufficient lifeguards on duty to monitor beach-goers’ safety

  • How do I get to Sunset Bay Beach Club?

    Via I-90 W – From Buffalo, take I-90 W (toll road). Take exit 58 for US-20 W/NY-5W. Keep left at the fork just past the tolls. Merge onto NY-5/US-20 W. Turn right onto Allegany Road. Take a slight left on Iola Drive. Sunset Bay Beach Club located at the end of the road.

    Via US-20W and NY-5W – From Buffalo, follow NY-5 W. Use two left lanes to turn slightly onto NY-75 S. Turn right onto US-20 W. At the traffic circle, take the 3rd exit onto NY-5 W. Turn right onto Allegany Road. Take slight left on Iola Drive. Sunset Bay Beach Club located at the end of the road.

  • Where can I park?

    Complimentary parking is included with any admission ticket to the Beach Bash and for any swimmer participating in the swim. Parking attendants will be on duty to direct you to park in one of the designated Sunset Bay Beach Club parking lots. Remember to bring your parking pass with you. Parking passes are included in your confirmation email after a Beach Bash ticket purchase or after a swimmer has completed registration.
